An Arising

"City Heat," an experiment in the use
of oil paint mixed with concrete, was
an attempt to understand how the
painter's other techniques would
blend with something chunky and
solid. It worked quite well, creating a
surface coated completely with a
texture so stone-like it's akin to
running your hand over shards of
broken pottery. The effects, as you
can see, made for an odd gathering
of colors and shapes.

"City Heat" is a small series. It
consists of only eight paintings. Six
may be seen here.
